‘Moments of Inspiration’ Remarks by Marc Kielburger to VRCA

Hello everybody at the Vancouver Regional Construction Association, my name is Marc Kielburger, co-founder of the WE organization and I’m really excited to seeing all of you on May 4th. I have the privilege this year of being your keynote speaker and I want to share some moments of inspiration, knowledge, kernels of wisdom that we have learned along the way.

For the last 20 years, we’ve been involved in changing the world. We work with over 7,000 schools in Canada, involving 3.8 million young people. Some of your sons, daughters, nieces and nephews I’m sure are involved.

But we also actually build schools around the world in 9 developing countries and we’ve built over 1,000 schools, providing education to hundreds of thousands of young people. And in doing so, both at home and abroad, we’ve learned some important lessons, some very tangible lessons that we want to share with you. Lessons from amazing individuals, people you’ve heard of from like Nelson Mandela and Oprah to others that you haven’t, some street kids and even my parents.

And so, we want to share with you some lessons and some words of wisdom of truly an unconventional education. So, we look forward to seeing you all on May 4th. Thank you for all that you do to help build Canada and build the world and we look forward to many adventures to come.
