If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out.

If you ever have any concerns about your data or privacy, or just have questions or comments about the site, get in touch. You can contact us at info@marckielburger.com.

Your feedback is always important, so drop us a line.

This is why we collect your data.

Whether it’s to target content so that it’s more relevant, or to help us better understand your needs and interests, marckielburger.com will collect some of your personal data.

We’ll also collect it for things like troubleshooting, testing and service improvements – including ways to improve our security and safety. (And sometimes, depending on where you live, we’re legally required to collect some user data.)

But your personal information will only ever be used or disclosed for purposes we describe in this policy. If we need it for any other reason, we’ll let you know before we ask.

This is the data we collect.

When you register for services or updates, we’ll sometimes ask for information such as your name, age, address and email address.

We also use Google Analytics features to collect non-identifiable, aggregated user data – like aggregated gender, age and interest behavior data. We use it to improve the site and target content to user interests, but that data is fully anonymized.

While you’re on marckielburger.com, some information is collected without you actively providing it – like your IP address, the type of operating system you’re using, the time you spent on the site and which pages you visited. This helps us improve the site, but the data is not used to identify individuals.

We only track IP addresses to help troubleshoot issues, moderate interactions (for example, with voting events, we will want to confirm people are not voting more than once) or filter out spam with our online forms.

If you’re under 18, please obtain your parents’ or guardian’s permission before you send us (or anyone else, for that matter) any personal information.

We really encourage parents and guardians to get involved so that they understand how their kids are using the internet. In fact, if you’re under the age of 13 and live in the United States, it’s the law that you must submit a parental consent form (email us at info@marckielburger.com to get one) prior to giving us any personal information.

If you’re under the age of 13, we do not want to collect your data. So, please disable cookies in your browser and use the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on to disable tracking by Google Analytics or submit the parental consent form mentioned above.

This is how we protect that information.

When you provide personal information, we’ll encrypt it using modern security standards such as SSL Encryption. Once on the site, your information is stored and protected with up-to-date usernames and passwords, which are mandated to be secure, and we use two-factor authentication where possible.

With so many services now being cloud-based, your data may be transferred and stored on a number of international servers and storage locations. The transmission of this data is also always secure and encrypted. (Keep in mind that these servers and cloud providers are independently operated and secured.)

Do we ever share your info?

Sometimes. For example, if you ask us for certain products or services (or info about those products or services), make a donation, or if we need to contact you in response to requests for information or respond to comments.

So, your information may be shared with:

  • Our affiliates.
  • Campaigns or causes you’ve asked to join.
  • Parties with whom we have contracted to process data, possibly including those located in countries or jurisdictions other than the one in which you reside. (When this happens, your information is protected by the laws of those jurisdictions.)
  • Parties to whom we have agreed to provide anonymized or aggregated data. But we will remove personal identifiers before we share it.

Before your personal information is used or disclosed for any new purpose, we’ll ask for consent, unless that use is required by law, regulation or court order.

But we will not sell your personal information to anyone. Ever.

Always remember: You control your information.

It’s your information. You get to decide how it’s used. So…

Don’t share it.

If you’re setting up an account or doing a transaction, we’ll need to know some things, but other things might be optional. So, don’t share that info if you prefer not to. It may limit some of the site’s features, but you can always update us later if you feel like you’re missing out.

Unsubscribe.

If you provide us with your email address, you might get emails from us. We hope you’ll find them interesting and informative. But, if you’d rather not hear from us in future, every message will have a link that allows you to opt-out.

Say ‘no’ to cookies.

Although cookies will soon be disappearing, in the meantime you can set your browser to reject them. Some features on the site might not function properly without them, but you can change your mind later.

Limit how your data is used.

You can opt-out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customize Google Display Network ads using the ads settings. You can also use the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on to disable tracking by Google Analytics.

Opt-out entirely.

Of course, you can withdraw consent at any time when it comes to the continued use and disclosure of your personal information. Again, that may limit how you can use the site or what benefits we can provide, but it’s your choice. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to info@marckielburger.com.

Changes to our Privacy Policy.

We’ll try not to change things very often, but we may have to from time to time. So, check back here to see if anything has been updated. (Check the date at the bottom of this page.) We’ll understand your continued use of this site after any change to mean you’re OK with that change, so be sure to drop in here every once in a while.

Want to know more? Just ask.

Please contact info@marckielburger.com with any questions or concerns you have about this Policy or about how marckielburger.com handles of your personal information.

We updated this policy on March 12, 2024.
