KPMG, a global leader in audit, tax, and advisory services, embarked on an innovative journey to enhance employee engagement through international volunteer trips. The genesis of this transformational program can be traced to the senior manager's life-changing volunteer experience in rural Kenya with Marc and ME to WE.

While volunteering in Kenya, the senior manager was profoundly affected by the values of community and success she observed. Upon returning, she began to imagine a different future for herself at KPMG. She formulated a revolutionary idea: tying salaries and advancement at KPMG to social responsibility. This notion was far from traditional but aligned perfectly with KPMG's commitment to environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

After carefully planning her strategy, she received support from the top leadership, including KPMG's Global Chairman. The program was implemented, making community involvement part of every job description and holding employees accountable in their performance reviews for community engagement. The program, marked by a synergy between professional goals and social impact, extended beyond Canada and went global.

ME to WE played an essential role in igniting this transformation by providing KPMG's senior manager with an immersive experience that led to a redefinition of success and legacy. Their focus on community development, ethical living and social empowerment was the cornerstone of the initiative's success within KPMG.
